Increase Remuneration of Security Personnel for Efficient Service Delivery – Security Expert Advocates
Security experts have advocated for a raise in the remuneration of security personnel both in the public and private sector in order to witness effective and efficient service delivery. This call was made at the Ado-Odo/Ota Security Summit held on the 3rd and 4th of July 2019 in Ota, Ogun State.
Mr. Korede Onafowokan, the MD of Arc Solutions who was a guest speaker at the security summit stressed the need for employers of labour to pay attention to the welfare package of their security personnel. “A well paid staff will not compromise when approached by unscrupulous elements” he added.
The Chief Security Officer of Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, Mr Abass equally added that a well motivated security official will not hesitate to go the extra mile in discharging his or her duties. He advised both Government and private institutions not to underpay their security personnel. “Security officials are professionals in their field and thus need to be treated with dignity” he said.
The Ado-Odo/Ota Security Summit brought together all stakeholders in the security sector under one roof for two days. The Nigeria Navy, Police, FRSC, Customs, NSCDC, Community Leaders, Private School and Business owners were all in attendance. The event was facilitated by Phembuk Communications, a consultancy firm owned by Femi Bolaji.
